THE BASICS FOR OUR SUMMER OFF-ROAD RACE SITE
Our site is not open to the public as any business. We cater to our forum members, family and friends providing free practice and racing action only on scheduled times when we can tend the site. Those that are members of our forum will receive notices of scheduled action.
In order to maintain a structured race program, all races must be started on time with the race system clock. No delays will be allowed for drivers not ready. Late entries are allowed to our races, but may need to wait until the next round to run to prevent program delays.
Any 1/18 to 1/8 scale size Electric R/C Cars, Buggies or Trucks legal to run in ROAR Class Rules or specific rules set for any special Class by our racers can be used to participate in our Off-Road Races. We may combine classes if the entry number does not warrant having a separate Class. The idea is to do what is possible to ensure all can run. Our main goal is to do the best we can to make sure all have fun.
All race classes are considered "OPEN" or modified.
Placement in the Mains is based on the best single Qualifying Round of the Drivers. This is generally referred to as the "Rocket Round".
A resort of the Qualifying setup before Round 3 is generally performed in our weekend programs when Classes populate to multi-race levels. This selects the best run for drivers out the scores for the first two rounds and uses that to rank performance and sets up new races for round 3 with those results. This places drivers together with those of more equal skill levels giving another chance to have a faster run. It must be noted that this only can be done properly when there is no frequency conflicts that will interfere with the setup.
All Classes that populate to multi-mains will have 2 bump up drivers. For example, if you take 1st or 2nd place in a "B" main you are automatically placed to race again in the "A" main of that class.
All races are scored using our AMBrc Timing System using Autoscore software. Those that have their own AMBrc Personal Transponders can register their ID numbers when signing up for the races. For those that do not own Personal Transponders or have new MyLaps or other versions that do not work with our decoder, we maintain a full set of rechargeable AMBrc Transponders that are issued to racers by color and car number by the Race Management System. Those using our transponders need to give full contact info to allow us to find them should they accidentally leave with a transponder.
Drivers can only operate their models from a position on the drivers stand during the races. The only exception to this rule is if wheelchair bound. In that case any place on the trackside is acceptable.
Special rules apply to racing when entering races late or re-entering races after an emergency pit stop repair. A designated re-entry area must be used down stream of the loop regardless of where the model was removed from the track. Drivers MUST reassume a position on the driver stand before proceeding to race again. Traffic must clear before re-entering the race.
We have only limited tables and chairs for use to pit on at our site. It is recommended all patrons bring their own if they can, it is best if they are lawn chairs because often the lawn is used as pit area.
Any ROAR legal 1/18 through 1/8 size electric off-road models can be run on our black dirt track ABOVE the level of those disposable-types sold in typical toy stores. Models in the 27 MHz and 75 MHz bands should have changeable frequency crystals or have synthesized channels and you must know what frequencies you have available or choose your own synthesized channels. Those in the 2.4 GHz Spectrum bandwidth are not an issue.
Charging of LiPo packs without an approved charging container is not permitted. Hard Cases are required for LiPo Packs also.
All models must have bodies designed for their specific class.
Tires must be sized for their designed class scale.
CORNER MARSHAL DUTIES ARE REQUIRED. All drivers are required to serve as Corner Marshals for one race following each of their heats or mains, or serve for an alternate race as instructed by the Race Director. The only exception is physically disabled or the driver has arranged a suitable substitute. Drivers failing to timely provide service as Corner Marshals will become disqualified from our races.
No person with sandals or other open type shoes is allowed to enter the racing area. Shorts are also discouraged, but with it being so hot I will not push it, but if you get hurt Altepeter Raceway will not be liable for it. Basically, participation at our races is at your own risk. All that use our site must agree that they do it at their own risk. The Altepeter Family cannot be sued for any type of damaged resulting from using our racetrack.
ENDING NOTES: It is
not fun for me to need to make people follow the rules. This is organized fun
and the cooperating of all that participate is required. Those that cannot
comply with these rules at my site will not last long here. Take this as a fact,
not just a warning. Having fun is what we do here. Winning is not important.

AMB RECHARGEABLE TRANSPONDER SERVICE
We provide the service of replacing the Rechargeable Button Cells in AMB Transponders for clubs and organizations. We stated doing this back in 2006 and have very many customers all over the US and some outside of the US. These replacement cells have proven better performance than the factor ones. In fact, we have had our new cells flash transponders green for over 24 hours on a full charge in AMBrc units. We also work on older AMB20, TranX 160 and TranX 260 rechargeable Transponders.
