MORE ON THE SUBJECT OF, "WHY I WENT TO USING WEB FORM MAIL"
About ten years ago when I first started using the Internet, the email feature was great. We had a simple email address that pointed to my wife and I, we could contact our friends or relatives that were also online at any time and no one we did not know or do business with already sent messages to us. For a couple of years, email was great and we never got unsolicited email (SPAM) until I decided to get a web site going. After this, I started to get SPAM and it got steadily worse until it got to the point that I would get 100 plus of these unsolicited emails from these vermin in a single day. Talk about a waste of my time; having to always sort through this trash to find the important ones from my family, friends and relatives.
Many of these SPAM emails would have the gall to state that I had "Opted In" somewhere to receive their trash or other bull crap like that. I would try to contact these idiots and get my addresses removed. Half the time the return address would be fake and the other half there would be no response. Then there are those that show a convenient "Remove Me From List" link that much of the time doesn't work. I honestly do not believe that the main reason these forms of human garbage that send out these SPAM emails put "remove me" links in there is to do you the service of allowing a way to stop the mailings. The real reason they put in "Opt Out" or "Remove Me" links is have a way to know which of the working emails are being viewed. If you try to get your name removed, these dirtballs say, "A-ha, this person is reading our trash" and they SPAM your address even more. In my trials, trying to get my email addresses removed from the lists of these vultures only resulted in getting even more SPAM.
What can we do to stop SPAM? Probably nothing. For as long as there is any possible financial gain, without being convicted and jailed, to be had by these shady, unscrupulous individuals and companies by their SPAM invasion of your personal rights to privacy, these attacks will continue. About the only thing you can do is try to insure that they cannot get a hold of your email address. What this means is never emailing to any person or company that you are not sure won't give out your address to anyone. Even if you are ordering from a reputable company, do not select to give them permission to send advertisements to you. Some shady companies will then sell your address to others. Another way email addresses are harvested by or for these SPAM sending vermin is off of web sites. In my case, I had my email address up everywhere on my web site to allow friends and customers to be able to easily contact me. I hear that the scumbags actually have developed software that hunts for web sites and then scans them to find and harvest email addresses automatically! Once they latch on to your email address and you start getting SPAM that will not stop after you try to "opt out" a few times, the only thing you can do is change your email address. This sucks not only because after this you have to tell everyone what the new one is, you may have had a one you liked that was easy to remember like just your first name at a domain.
And now finally, a few words to those individuals and companies that are involved in sending out these unsolicited emails. I do not appreciate your SPAM invasion of my person. Your illegal operations infuriate me and I will do everything I can to stop you. You all belong behind bars. Why don't you grow up and get a real job. I can see some of the issues I have addressed on sections of my web site have upset some of you dirt bags because of the attempts to infect my computer with viruses by email and such I have been getting. I am very happy that I have upset you and will continue to do so. If you want to continue to waste your time trying to damage my systems, fine. I am always ready to defend myself from your feeble attacks. I have finished integrating my web site with form mail so you cannot access my email addresses. Now, slime like you won't be able to SPAM me any more anyway. Even if you do stumble on another email address of mine, I can quickly change it with just a few key strokes and my form mail system will allow people to still get in touch with me again to get a new address. So long you SPAM sending bastards. I won't miss you.
Best Regards
The SPAM Terminator
