NORMAL PROGRAM FOR THE WINTER CARPET RACES
WHEN? & WHAT?
We will set the date to begin Carpet Racing again at the East Grand Forks
American Legion on Tuesday November 6th. Please be on site to register by
6:00PM. We need to be sure to get races running every night by 7:00PM or
earlier. The first race night will not count for points in our series. Unless
something changes, the 2007-2008 Points Series will be the best 12 out of 16
Races.
SET UP & TEAR DOWN
We will generally start to set up the track a 5:00PM as usual. Though we have
pre-arranged guys to regularly do the set-up and tear down, any additional help
is always welcome. Last year, you guys pitched in for track tear down
practically every race. That was great! As you know, my wife Leslie would bring
my son Grayson over to race from Crookston, but she cannot stay there and he
could not go home with me until all was finished and put away. All your help
kept that to a much better time.
THE PROGRAM PLAN
For each Class, there will be 1 Heat and 1 Main Race each night. These
Qualifying Heats will all be IFMAR-Style again with a 3,5,1/4 minute setup and
automatic starts. All mains run 3,5,1/4 minute grid races and start on the tone.
To those that do not know how this works, there is a 3 minute countdown before
the race starts, qualifiers runs 5 minutes, and then there is a 15 second delay
before the program prints the race results. Then the program automatically
starts the countdown until the next race. The only variation in this is the
added time it takes to convert the layout from 1/18 Off-Road to Oval and back.
Each Class's Main Race will have two bump-ups.
CLASSES
THE POSSIBLE CLASSES WE
CAN HAVE
1/18 TRUCK 2WD
1/18 TRUCK 4WD
1/18 TRUCK OVAL
1/18 SEDAN
19 TURN SEDAN OVAL
STOCK PAN CAR OVAL
2WD GEAR BOX STOCK
SPRINT STOCK OVAL
We will work out what classes will be run based on what you all want to do. What
classes show up to run the first two races will be the deciding factor.
NOTES:
I have purchased a second splitter, so when we run off 1/18 Off-Road we can
use a new (or one of the original) jumps with a loop secured below it to count
laps. This will allow us to have much more variety in the way we set up because
it will no longer matter where the oval loop is! If it happens we do run 1/18
Sedan, it tends to complicate things because they can't use a loop built into a
jump. I guess we will see what happens...
HERE IS TO A GREAT 2007-2008 SERIES
OF WINTER RACES! WILL SEE YOU THERE!

RACER EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS
We at Kevin's R/C Products are strictly against the practice of spamming people with any form of unwanted email advertisements. Still, we want to inform area racers of activities. What I decided would be the easiest is to use this forum as the database for our email notices. Anyone that is a member of our forum will receive our mailings. Should you like Race Notices from us, please join The KRC Web Forum. After that you will be on our mailing list whether you participate in our discussions or not. CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE KRC FORUM
WE WILL SET UP A CLASS FOR OTHERS IF IT IS NEEDED ALSO.

Any 1/18th Scale "Micro" Class 4WD Sedans.
-MINI-TRUCK 2WD CLASS

-1/18 TRUCK OPEN CLASS
New class for those that have modified Losi Mini-T's, Associated RC18T or other 1/18th Scale Trucks. Any commercially available performance upgrades can be used as long as the original width and sized of the model is not changed. This includes Brushless Motor Systems. -4 WHEEL DRIVE 19-TURN
Only 1/10th Scale Touring Car Class Vehicles. Any ROAR approved 19 turn SPEC class motor can be used. It has been brought to my attention that one brand of supposed 19 Turn SPEC Class motor is being allowed to run that has adjustable, rather than fixed, timing. I personally cannot see how that should be allowable, so all 19-Turn SPEC motors must not have adjustable timing to be qualified as legal motors for this or Pan Car Classes.
any 1/12th scale, ROAR legal non-gearbox types. Must run 4-cell Battery Packs. Any ROAR Stock, 19-Turn "Super Stock" or 19-Turn SPEC Class Motors are allowed. See the 2004 ROAR Handbook for more details on motor issues. Separate receiver packs to increase radio gear voltage are also allowed.

The armatures can be either machine or hand wound, but must display the original factory tag or stamping. For those running with stamped arms, you will be required to disassemble your motor to prove factory marking to prove it is legal if it cannot be seen through the holds.
